Noordin Top dead
A SEVEN-YEAR manhunt for Southeast Asia's most wanted terror leader, Noordin Mohammad Top, has finally come to an end on Thursday (September 19, 2009) when he was shot dead in a nine-hour siege on a house in Solo, Central Java.

Indonesia's national police chief Bambang Hendarso Danuri said: 'From national police doctors' examinations...and fingerprints sent by the Malaysian police, thank God, in this holy month of Ramadan...it is Noordin M. Top.'.

Noordin Top was born in Kluang, Johor; 11 August 1968.

Based in Xinshan (Johor Bahru), Malaysia, XurfNet is a website that focus on issues surrounding the city and seeks to be the medium that connects and brings together Xinshan'ers online.

The website started out with the main idea of providing a one-stop portal which consists of all the possible web services and tools for the convenience of a regional community which shares the same common interests.

However, the policy has since changed in mid 2007 to focus more on Xinshan.

History
XurfNet was setup in 2004, an evolved version of "Surf Centre" which started in 1998.

XurfNet was creatively coined to mean two things: "surfing the internet" and "xingshan network".

What is Xinshan?
The name of the city, Johor Bahru, in Chinese. Xingshan was renamed Xinshan in March 2007 in line with correct pinyin.
